A Broker helps manage the Self-Direction Budget by providing guidance on service options, maintaining the budget, writing Staff Action Plans, and facilitating Circle of Support meetings. Types include Start-Up Brokers and Support Brokers.

A Fiscal Intermediary (FI) handles background checks on staff, collects service-related documentation, reimburses approved goods and services, manages payroll, and monitors the yearly budget.

Yes, but with restrictions. Family members cannot be Live-In Caregivers and must meet specific criteria such as being over 18 and not being a parent, legal guardian, or spouse of the participant.
